My Brute Shop – Buy My Brute Merchandise

It has been a long time since I’ve made a post on this blog, but honestly not a lot has changed at My Brute since my previous posts. All of the in-game action is all the same and all the hints and tips I’ve posted still stand strong. However, My Brute has finally come up with a way to try to make some money off of their loyal players – My Brute Merchandise.

Why sell My Brute merchandise?
Before I go really in-depth on the new My Brute merchandise I thought I would explain why they are now selling it and my opinion on it. As I mentioned in my post about My Brute failing, they have a lot of downtime and I think the main reason for the downtime is that they cannot afford to keep their servers up. They refuse to put any advertisements up besides the ones for their own games and from what I can see do not really understand how to monetize a website. So, they’ve decided to try to sell merchandise (mugs and t-shirts) in order to make money to keep My Brute afloat. In my opinion this is a terrible way to try to make money (most of the people who play My Brute are young and I highly doubt they generate very many sales) and they should stick to traditional forms of advertising (banners). However, here is some information on their new merchandise in case you are interested in buying some for your brute.

If you have logged into your cellule on My Brute anytime in the past month or so you probably noticed the new shop button pictured on the right. Click that button to be taken to the following pages to create and order a mug or t-shirt for your My Brute. You don’t have to actually pay for the shirt or mug to build it and see what it would look like. You can simply follow these directions to take a look at it.

Win 400 My Brute Pupils from MyBruteGame.com!

We have seen a massive amount of growth here at My Brute Game Guide over the past few months since our launch and I think it is time we give back to the My Brute community who has helped support us. So, we have decided to have a contest/drawing which I am sure you My Brute fanatics will love…

We are giving away at least 400 pupils to one random reader!

These 400 pupils will really help you in your quest to become a Brutal Legend. That’s an additional at least 400 experience points! You can view our My Brute experience list to see how much that can level up you.

So, what do you need to do to enter?
Entering the drawing is quick and easy. First you must have a My Brute so if you do not create one now. Second, post your My Brute pupil link in the comments on this post AND in the comments on our Post Your Pupil Link post. You must post your pupil link in BOTH POSTS or you will not qualify for the drawing.

We also ask that you sign up for our My Brute newsletter (e-mail required). Although this is not required to be entered into the contest it is a great way to keep up to date with all the happenings here at MyBruteGame.com :)

labrute.fr and elbruto.es

Well, MyBrute.com has been down for quite awhile now (going on 5 days maybe?) and you may be getting desperate. If that is the case you may be happy to know that there is an alternative (besides finding a game like My Brute). Motion Twin, the parent company of My Brute, hosts the MyBrute.com game in two other languages: French (La Brute) and Spanish (El Bruto).

It appears that La Brute is down just like MyBrute.com, however, El Bruto is up and you can create a new character there and play.

Creating your character for El Bruto
Creating an elbruto.es character is the same as creating a character for MyBrute.com. Even if you do not know Spanish (which includes me) you can easily walk yourself through the creation process and once you have done that all the other features of El Bruto are the same as My Brute except they are in Spanish.

MyBrute.com is failing

If you are an active My Brute player at all you have probably noticed the recent increase in the amount of downtime at MyBrute.com. A recent poll we put up (embedded below) shows that people are really getting upset about all this downtime, which can be understood. We have also noticed a big trend in people searching for games like My Brute, which is also understandable. All of these things are showing direct consequences to MyBrute.com’s popularity.

Here is a graph of MyBrute.com’s traffic since about May of 2009 from Alexa.com:

MyBrute.com is down – Brutal Error

My Brute (mybrute.com) has been down today for the most part of the day (the past 8 hours or so) and although it goes down each night and we as My Brute players are getting used to that, this unannounced downtime is really starting to get annoying. When the site is down you not only cannot fight with your brute, but you also cannot get any new pupils. This means any promotion you are doing is totally thrown out the window. Plus, if someone goes to My Brute for the first time wanting to create their character and see the site is down more than likely they will not return. This is literally killing My Brute as a game. I know I am upset about it, but how do you feel?

How do you feel about the My Brute downtime?

A brutal error has been encountered!

If you are a My Brute fan, which considering you are reading my My Brute Guide I am going to assume you are, you were probably very frustrated today when every time you attempted to go to the site you got the error message pictured below saying “A brutal error has been encountered!

As My Brute fanatics we are getting used to seeing this message (it appears on a daily basis throughout the day), but should we just accept it? How many times have you headed over to Google.com to perform a search just to find the site down? Never. Most websites could not operate and be successful if they went down as often as My Brute does, but somehow they still do it.

Please My Brute, stop with the brutal errors. I love the game and cannot accept that you cannot keep it up.
